Several members of the Central Virginia Incident Management Team attended the FEMA Region 3 IMT workshop at the Virginia Public Safety Training Center this week in Hanover. A special thanks to Steve Parrott, Bill Moore, Bryan Swanson, Lee Williams, Corey Beazley, Kent Emerson and Jason Roach for representing our team this week. The week also included a multi-day practical excercise of a Logistics Staging Area following the FEMA L660 class requirements. Great weather all week while our team learned new concepts in Logistics related to establishing a LSA. Participants received, processed, and distributed specialty teams, commodities, and transport vehicles in a staging area as part of a full scale exercise. Several members of FEMA Incident Managment Assistance Teams (IMAT) and Disatser Managment Assistant Teams (DMAT) worked with the class. A huge thank you to Jason Eaton with VDEM for facilitating this course and Bond Luddeke with FEMA for serving as lead instructor. Other students from NCR and HRIMT also attended as well as New York City, Maryland, North Carolina, Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania and Military.
